Bugisu cooperative union (BCU) was established as a body whose mandate to promote and oversee the coffee of the farmers by supporting research, promoting production, controlling the quality and improving the marketing of coffee in order to optimize foreign exchange earnings for the country and payments to the farmers. 

BCU Vision is “ To produce high quality coffee for socio-economic development of Bugisu and Uganda at large.” and the Mission is “BCU Ltd was formed to grow, buy, process and market high quality standard arabica coffee for mutual benefits to both farmers and consumers”.
